This means that Nepalese test-takers obtained a good average score of 6.0 in 2017!
Indian test-taker performance in 2017
Candidates that speak Hindi or any other local language of India had a mean band score of 6.59 in the General Training (GT) module of the IELTS exam in the year 2017, whereas that for the Academic version was 6.04.
This means that Indian test-takers obtained a better average score of 6.31 in 2017!
The good news is: the average score of females from all over the world is 6.28, while the figure for males is 6.20.
So, if you achieve a 6.5, then you're considered above average in the Indian sub-continent, and, of course, in Southeast Asia!
Additional statistics
Candidates originating from the United States (USA) of America scored 8.0 on average in 2017, and the lowest figures were seen in the performance of test-takers from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), with an average score of 4.76.
